Advanced Acne Treatment

How does this treatment work?
There are many treatments for moderate acne such as creams, washes and oral medications. There is now a treatment available that does not depend on medication. The BLU-U® is a special blue light that can kill the bacteria in your skin that causes acne. You simply place your face close to the light for a short time on a schedule, usually a 15-minute session about once or twice per week. The treatments may go on for five weeks or so. This treatment is safe, it is not hot, and it is not painful. After several weeks of treatment, the blue light can control your acne, or clear it up for a very long period.

For more stubborn acne, a series of FotoFacial RF™ treatments can be combined with BLU-U® blue light therapy. To increase the effectiveness of BLU-U® blue light therapy, we can also use an advanced solution called Levulan® Kerastick®. Levulan® Kerastick® has been clinically proven effective in killing the P. acnes bacteria responsible for causing acne as well as decreasing oil gland production.

We have developed several advanced acne programs that can clear and control acne. Once acne is controlled, we can also clear acne scarring with Fraxel® II laser treatments.
