How does Sculptra® work?
Sculptra® helps stimulate the body's own collagen production therefore making the skin appear smoother, firmer and more youthful.
What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is a 100% biologically degradable polylactic acid that has been processed in hydro gel. The 100% pure milk acid is a naturally occurring substance that has been used for more than 25 years in surgery, dentistry and food industry and is absolutely safe.
The Treatment with Sculptra®:
Sculptra® gel is injected precisely under the skin using ultra-thin syringes. More than one treatment sessions may be required. Patients with severe facial fat loss may require 3 to 6 treatment sessions.
The Effect of Sculptra®:
Immediately after having the Sculptra® treatment you will see a visible difference. After the first two weeks the effect will seem to diminish. Do not worry, this is normal and will gradually improve as the polylactic acid molecules spread themselves within the skin. Afterwards new collagen will start to form. It will take a few months before the result becomes visible.
How long does the effect of Sculptra® last?
The effect of Sculptra® achieves long-lasting results. In clinical studies, the treatment results lasted for 2-3 years.
Maintaining the effect:
Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.
